Photography Competition Entry

I have just entered a Photographic Competition on the internet. The competition was all about macro or close up photography and the image i chose to submit was an A-Level Piece i did for my final module last year (above).

The competition was organised through SnapAlley Photo Contests at this website, (http://www.photographers.co.uk/html/photography-competitions.cfm). Below is a Screen Shot conformation of my entry into the competition.

      Career History

Kart Marshal and Driver Trainer, level three trained, Drive Tech

November 2007 to Present

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• I have been trained in the operation of every corner on the track, each has a different role.

• I am responsible for the smooth running of the pit lane area of the race track, interacting with the customers, checking their safety equipment and checking the safety of the vehicles.

• Lastly I am responsible for the safety and wellbeing of our child drivers; I have been trained to teach children how to drive the vehicles safely and quickly.

• Teaching children as young as eight to drive can be tricky, but it’s a rewarding challenge, which I enjoy doing.   

Cleaner, Christchurch Primary School

September 2008 to September 2010

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• I was responsible for the cleanliness of ¼ of the school for which I was praised for my efficiency and standard of cleaning.

• I worked as part of a small team, covering for any absences or illness of the other team members. 

 

Paper Round, Hanham News

April 2006 to August 2010

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• I have been responsible for a daily delivery of papers on the same round for the last four years.

• My customers have been relying on me to deliver at a constant time each day, and have also been entrusted by customers to take money back to the shop to pay their outstanding bills especially for my elderly customers.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• I carried out a variety of jobs around the shop, for example building show bikes and helping customers with their choice of bike to purchase.  I’ve had a small experience at working on the tills and dealing with a small amount of paper work in relation to bike checks.

Photographer Interview Request

I have just sent an email to Caroline Pilling, she is a wedding and portrait photographer from Bristol. I have a big interest in wedding photography and after seeing her work i thought i would see if i could conduct an interview with her for my work based learning project. I'll keep you posted as to her response.

istockphoto.com application update

I have just received an email from istockphoto.com stating that my images are not suitable for their stock library at this time, and wish me to change my subject matter according to their specification at the moment.

I shall be attempting to enter more images into their catalogue however i may consider other libraries who would be more suited to my style of photography.

I have just submitted my first images to the website and am waiting approval via email.

Entrance exam to istockphoto.com update

I HAVE PASSED, finally passed the entrance exam after two attempts now to try and upload my images.

Application to istockphoto.com

I have decided to apply to istockphoto.com as a way of creating a small income. however as of yet my application has been declined due to me not getting all the answers right on their entrance exam. i will however try again.

i'll keep you posted as to my success.
